Here are some pictures of my most recent sculpture. It is a five-foot tall bear. The pictures below are from the opening event of the Tom Tom festival, held at the McGuffey Art Center on April 13th. Everyone there was invited to press their fingers into the surface for the clay bear to create a texture for the bear's fur. This was such a great event. A really cool black and white photo of this sculpture was featured in the Hook Magazine here is the link: http://www.readthehook.com/103215/tom-tom-founders-festival Here are some pictures of the finished bear. It will now be taken apart, fired, stained and then put back together. After all this technical stuff happens the bear will be back on display at the closing event of the Tom Tom Festival on May 13th at the IX Project. Address: 955 2nd Street Southeast Charlottesville, VA 22902 . Then it will be installed permanently at Baker-Butler Elementary School. The bear will be holding a book in his hands.
